When there is more than one defined Software Archive Server in the ClientInfo file clicking on the CHANGE SERVER will bring up a list of the available servers. The list entries consist of an IP or URL address together with a one word description such as PRIMARY, BACKUP, MIRROR, etc. Selecting one of the available options changes the server being used to query and install available software. The current server is shown in GUI with its associated description given in parenthesis. The figure below shows the GUI pointing at a MIRRORED server.
The server designated PRIMARY is the main software archive which currently resides at MSFC. MIRROR servers are copies of the PRIMARY server and can act as backups should the PRIMARY go down. Other servers may be local servers which provide a limited set of applications which are maintained at the local site.
